This might be the plan for spoiler, but we usually see that as text blanking. It's useful to collapse block quotes in a post for organization, space-saving, and shyness purposes.
Good call. I'll look into making that a setting so that people can choose blockquotes to start out collapsed or open. It'll probably land along with the fix for nested quotes later next week.
