Memory leak with latex

While writing a math-heavy article I noticed that the live-preview started lagging, and after a few more minutes of editing the webpage crashing, as seen in the picture below:

I've noticed chrome use gradually more and more memory in top, and kswapd process taking lots of resources right before the crash.

Latest update: here's the top output for the chrome right before it becomes unbearably slow:

As you can see it uses 38.4 gb of virtual memory (the highest number anything took on my computer ever), meaning that most likely its a leak
