I'm learning game design and have designed my first game. It's an extremely basic sorting game. The idea is that there is a conveyor belt, items that are on the conveyor belt, and boxes that the items get sorted into. The first few levels are slow but the idea is that speed of the belt, item spawn rate, variation of items, number of boxes, and number of belts will change through the levels. These levels are serving as an intro to what the game is about, demonstrating how some of the elements can be manipulated and how they affect gameplay. I created a simple level editor too.
