RSS feed: duplicate posts in the feed

When a new reply is added in a thread, the original post in the RSS feed has it's <updated> field changed with the date of the new post. This causes the original post to re-appear in my RSS reader. That wasn't the case before. Did something changed recently with the RSS feed ?
