I don't know if the latest Windows update did this to everyone, but on both my computers the start menu has been opening significantly slow for the past 2 weeks. I couldn't get it for the video, but it can get as bad a 8/10 seconds to render anything. That's why I spent a week to see if I could make something better. It is still very crude, but already usable, at least for how I tend to use the start menu. The next step is to add a search box 🙂

You know the random element algorithm that was explained in Casey's and Mahc's video a couple of days ago? I just used it today, in this Galaga clone, when aliens need to pick their starting position from the ones that aren't occupied.

Situation for &image-capture at the end of day 3 (yesterday I haven't had time to do anything): I think I understand the new capture API, at least generally. Those long identifiers are less scary, I have a vague idea of what some of the interfaces do. I still don't have a program that does anything useful. We Must Proceed.
